The Nameless Grace program can also be viewed online from Dec 1 at http://daata.art
Daata is delighted to present Nameless Grace, an exhibition of artists’ films that use classical music to challenge accepted wisdom and offer new perspectives. Screened on the outside wall of the New World Center, home of the New World Symphony at SoundScape Park, this curated playlist coincides with Art Basel in Miami Beach, to highlight both music and digital art’s astonishing capacity for transcendental experiences.
Nameless Grace takes its title from a poem by Lord Byron, She Walks in Beauty (1814), which conveys the experience of encountering the sublime in art. Grace is something given and received, a blessing associated with harmony. A nameless grace is when we feel ‘grace’ from something unquantifiable, intangible and elusive. Applied to an exhibition of digital pieces playing for a limited period of time, Curator David Gryn returns to the lofty rationale for making, viewing and collecting art - its ability to move us emotionally, spiritually and intellectually.
Daata is the leading online gallery for discovering, streaming and collecting digital artworks. With Daata you can watch and collect (from the comfort of your own home) the best in contemporary digital art by emerging and established international artists. Daata commissions exclusive original artworks as well as hosting works from our world-renowned Gallery partners. Also screened at the New World Symphony, Gryn curated the Art Basel in Miami Beach Film & Sound programme from 2011-2018, and Daata and The Bass collaborated in the most recent last two years’ editions on screening co-commissioned artists video works.
